Transforming Asset Integrity Through Intelligent NDT

What happens to an asset between inspections? This critical question is driving the evolution of intelligent inspection and monitoring and shaping the future of asset integrity.

PNDT is proud to announce that its President, Mohammed Abufour, has published his latest technical paper, “Beyond Inspection: Intelligent NDT for the Future of Asset Integrity,” in the 9th Edition of INSPENET BRIEF, a special edition for the SLOM Conference 2026, available in both English and Spanish.

Focusing on insulated plant piping and Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI), the paper explores how Guided Wave Testing (GWT), complementary sensing, intelligent monitoring, and engineering assessment can work together to improve asset awareness, identify meaningful changes, and prioritize inspection efforts where they matter most.

The central message is clear: the future of asset integrity lies in moving beyond periodic inspection snapshots toward smarter monitoring, earlier evidence, and more informed engineering decisions. By complementing conventional inspection with intelligent monitoring, the industry can strengthen its understanding of changing asset conditions and focus resources more effectively.

PNDT congratulates Mohammed Abufour on this valuable technical contribution and recognizes the importance of advancing NDT knowledge, encouraging innovation, and sharing expertise across the international asset integrity community.

Our sincere appreciation goes to INSPENET BRIEF and its editorial team for providing a platform that connects industry experts and promotes technical knowledge exchange across borders.

At PNDT, we believe progress begins when inspection evolves into intelligence and knowledge translates into better decisions, stronger reliability, and safer assets.
